Biographical history

The Historic Trails Society of Alberta was formed in 1979 to research and promote interest in historic routes across western Canada. Bruce Haig was the impetus behind the society and its president, and it was based in Lethbridge. One of the society's first trips was over the Athabasca Pass. The society dissolved in 1988. Bruce Haig later formed a similar society called the Explorer's Club.
