Biographical history

Glyn Kennedy, a retired school teacher in St. Boswells, Roxburghshire, Scotland, compiled information on the Eckford family, former owners of a nearby country house. Major Alexander Haldane Eckford, 1837?-1914, was owner of the Round T Ranch near High River, Alberta, and retired to England in 1911. His son Alexander Herbert Eckford, 1867-1946, owned the High River Horse Ranch near High River, and was a friend of A. E. Cross and an investor in his brewery business. He retired to Scotland in 1914.
