Biographical history

George Glasford, 1863-1940, was born in Edwardsburgh,Ontario and worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway in Calgary. He married Mary Elizabeth Lewis, 1869-1947, and they had 7 children, Ellinor, 1889-1973, Mary (McAlpine, later Small), 1892-1953, Evelyn (Hennigar, later Hall), 1894-1941, Florence (Bernard Longmire), 1897-1987, Marjorie (Clifford), 1899-1981, Pauline (Curlette), 1904-1991, and George, 1912-1972. Several of their children remained in the Calgary area. Bernard, 1886-1963, (an accountant) and Florence Glasford Longmire had one daughter, Joan, who married John Teasdale "Jack" North Jr. in 1944. They all lived in Calgary. Bernard served in the Royal Flying Corps in the First World War. John Teasdale North Sr. lived at Parkland, Alberta and married Clara Amundsen, daughter of well-known settler Ole Amundsen.
