Biographical history

In the summer of 1984 representatives of seven Alberta organizations of French-speaking women met in Edmonton to discuss common concerns. Called the Groupe de concertation des franco-albertaines, the women agreed to undertake several joint projects for their mutual benefit, which included holding a provincial conference and undertaking a study to determine the needs of francophone women in the province. Rosemary M. Fimmers and Francoise Sigur were prominent in the organization.
