The De Winton and District Historical Society was incorporated on January 26, 1976 to research, compile and publish a history of the settlement of the De Winton, Alberta area, south of Calgary. The group received a provincial government grant under the New Horizons program, and in 1978 published Sodbusting to Subdivision. Having accomplished its objective, the group folded in 1983.
