Name of creator
Roy Cawthorn was born in Calgary, Alberta and grew up during the 1930s on an acreage on the western edge of the city. He was trained as a watchmaker at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), graduating in 1949. He opened his own jewellery shop in Calgary at 20th Street and 33rd Avenue SW. He married Beth Jensen in the 1950s.
