Administrative history

The Calgary Winter Club, a recreational facility located on 10 acres in northwest Calgary, Alberta, was first proposed by Roy Farran. A board of directors was elected at a public meeting in late 1957, and after a fund-raising campaign, the building was started in 1959. It was officially opened in 1960. The club provides facilities for curling, bowling, badminton, tennis, swimming and other sports, as well as for social events.
