Administrative history
The Calgary Stampeder Football Club was founded in Calgary, Alberta in September of 1945. Jack Grogan was chairman and Dean Griffing was head coach. The team won the Grey Cup in 1948 and again in 1971. The team started playing in Mewata Stadium and in 1960 moved to the newly constructed McMahon Stadium. The fonds consists of nine photograph series as follows: players, players-signed to try out only, players-applied only, administrative staff, team photographs, play action, cheerleaders and mascots, media and activities, and other CFL team photographs. Also includes some press releases, resumes and newsclippings, and media recordings of the 1948 Grey Cup game, team jingles, etc.
