The Calgary Retired Teachers' Association was incorporated in 1963, originally under the name Retired Teachers' Association, Calgary Branch. The purpose of the organization is to provide opportunities for retired teachers to meet and to promote communication with their colleagues. The organization publishes a newsletter and supports scholarships for university students studying education. The group also allows members to lobby against government policies detrimental to their welfare.
