Administrative history
The Calgary Pro Music Society was established in 1979 as a non-profit, registered charitable organization dedicated to encouraging and celebrating chamber music, music written for a small group of musicians with one performer to a part and generally without a conductor.
The Society carries out its mandate through concert series and musical receptions, public broadcasts of its concert performances, and music outreach and learning programs including master classes.
The Society’s concerts present the music of many eras, and feature world-renowned chamber ensembles performing in the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall in the University of Calgary’s Rosza Centre.
