Name of creator
The Motor Courts and Resorts Association of Alberta was incorporated in 1954 under the Alberta Societies Act, to promote the interests of those providing accommodation to the travelling public. In 1965 the name was changed to the Motel Association of Alberta. Its affiliate, the Calgary Motor Association, was subsequently formed. CMA's objects are to enable members to discuss common problems, to present a united front when dealing with government and other organizations, and to promote tourism in the Calgary area.
