Name of creator
The Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America was established in Kansas City, Missouri, USA before 1900. Kitchener Lodge No. 145, a local in Calgary, Alberta, was formed at a meeting in the Labor Temple on September 25, 1914. Its territory included the Alyth Yards and the Calgary Depot. The union had a grievance committee and a Joint Protective Board for the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) system. It also established a sick and benefit fund in conjunction with BRCA, Ladysmith Lodge No. 42.
