Administrative history
Beth Israel Players, a Calgary, Alberta amateur theatre company, was started in 1970 by members of the Beth Israel Synagogue. In 1977 the Players became incorporated. Theatre and rehearsal space for the group was provided in the Synagogue. In 1978 they took their production of "Funny Girl" to Vancouver, and in 1981 took "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" to the Edmonton Multicultural Festival. The company folded in 1986 after staging 28 productions.
