Biographical history

George A. and Ruth Barter of Antigonish, Nova Scotia had nine children: George Jr., Stanley Clifford, Allister Graham, Ruth, Vera, Chrissie, Muriel, Margaret, and Billy. Allister, 1924-1989, moved to Alberta in 1964 and worked as organist and choir director of United churches in Lethbridge and Red Deer.

The fonds consists of a family portrait of George and Ruth Barter with their three oldest children (ca. 1927); a letter from George Jr., stationed in London, to Allister (1942); and a letter from Stanley, stationed overseas, to his mother (1944). Includes explanatory comments by Elizabeth Barter.
