Biographical history
Andrew Little, 1919-1993, was born in Calgary. At the age of 17 he joined the Calgary Police Department as a clerk and became a constable in 1940. Except for a period of service with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) from 1943 to 1945, he remained with the Calgary Police until retiring with the rank of Inspector in 1974. He was involved in the identification and public relations aspects of police work. From 1975 to 1982 he was the Progressive Conservative Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Calgary McCall in the Alberta Legislature. He later served the Province as chair of the Alberta Human Tissue Procurement Task Force, 1982-1985, and of the Occupational Health and Safety Council, 1984-1985. He and his wife, Virena, had two daughters, Jean and Ann (Lidgren).
