Biographical history
Allan Frazer Hay was born October 4, 1921 in Ottawa, Ontario. Prior to his enlistment with the Royal Canadian Air Force he worked as an apprentice at the Royal Mint. During WWII he served as a Leading aircraftsman (LAC). He died January 2, 2000 in Ottawa.

Scope and content
Accession consists predominantly of photographs related to Hay's time of service during WWII. The photographs capture the activities of R.C.A.F. No. 403 (Wolf) Squadron in action in different areas of the war, including Belgium, Holland, France, and England. Of particular interest are images taken during Operation Overlord depicting Caen, France, and the Juno Beach landing. Most of the photographs are originals; roughly half of them are captioned.
Also includes a small amount of clippings, and military service records.

Items have been removed from their original binder, rehoused in the same order in a new binder. Several newspaper and clippings found floating free are in a single folder.
