Columns contain book reviews of Raymond Fraser's The Black Horse Tavern (May 19); Alfred G. Bailey's Thanks for a drowned island (October 2); Geoffrey Stevens's Stanfield, published title of review Stanfield : "The most improbable of politicians" (October 13); Pierre Berton's Drifting home (October 20); and Stuart Trueman's The fascinating world of New Brunswick (December 1). Also contains a number of articles written by A. Nowlan including Junior councillors shocked their elders (Evening Times-Globe, June 9); Your time has come, Walter Learning! (July 2); Don't frighten the tourists (September 22); and Reviewer finds Irving book has fatal weaknesses, a review of Russell Hunt and Robert Campbell's K.C. Irving (Daily Gleaner, October 11).
