Name of creator
Adanac Oil Company Limited was incorporated in May 1914 with William Stewart Herron, 1870-1939, as president. Herron came to Alberta ca. 1904 and was involved in farming and the petroleum industry. He helped found other petroleum companies including Calgary Petroleum Products. Adanac Oil was struck in November 1922.
These records were salvaged from the Hollinsworth Building, owned by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, before the Bankers Hall project renovations were begun. The company's representatives probably had offices in the building.

The fonds consists of certificate of incorporation (1914), correspondence, lease agreements including Herron's which predate the company, invoices and receipts, share certificates, financial statement (1917), tax assessments (1920, 1922) and shareholders' correspondence (1923).
