Canadian poet Miriam Mandel, neé Minovitch, was born June 24, 1930, in Rockglen, Saskatchewan. Granted a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1950. Poetry published in various anthologies. 1973 Governor General's Literary Award for poetry collection Lions at her face. Died in Edmonton, Alberta, on February 13, 1982.
