Campus Security works closely with the university community, Calgary Police Service and other agencies to maintain the University of Calgary as a pleasant place to live, work and study. Uniformed Campus Security officers are on duty 24 hours a day-year round to respond to security needs and emergency situations. The office also presents informative lectures on personal security and robbery prevention, offers security audits for offices and labs, and supports the student-run volunteer program Safewalk.

In 1957, the Government of the Province of Alberta appointed a Royal Commission consisting of six commissioners headed by Senator Donald Cameron. The Commission was instructed to make a "comprehensive survey of the various phases of the elementary and secondary school system of the province with particular attention to programs of study and pupil achievement". The Commission presented its report to the Government on November 9, 1959. The report consisted of a majority presentation signed by five of the six commissioners and a minority submission signed by Commissioner John S. Cormack.

Sangster, Allan

Canadian music broadcaster. Born in 1903 in Wabigoon, Ontario. Educated in engineering at the University of Toronto. Worked for several years as a professional photographer. Wrote short stories and radio plays, many of which were published or broadcast. From 1952 to 1967, wrote scripts for and narrated the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation radio series The Music of.... Died 1967.

Kodály Society of Canada

The Kodály Society of Canada was founded in 1973 as the Kodály Institute of Canada. The society is a bilingual professional association dedicated to the dissemination of research and the improvement of teaching following the musical, educational and cultural concepts associated with Zoltan Kodály. To this end, it holds biennial national conferences and publishes a journal Alla Breve. There are official branches of the society in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. The Kodály Society of Canada is the recognized national body affiliated with the International Kodály Society based in Budapest.
